The 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualification rounds, showcasing 12 teams competing for a spot in the finals, have wrapped up. Though no medals were awarded, this competition determined the teams advancing to the team finals. The top eight teams qualify for the team finals. The qualifications also determined the participants for the all-around and apparatus finals. Full results can be found here.

Leading the team qualifications, China secured the first position with a score of 263.028 with a 2.434 point lead over Japan. 

Notably, in the country’s first ever entry in an Olympic Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team event, Türkiye finished in 9th, just barely missing out on a spot in the team final with a margin of just over two-tenths of a point. Türkiye will serve as first-reserve for the team final.

Japan and China entered the 2024 Paris Olympic Games as the reigning silver and bronze team medalists. Russia, which competed as the Russian Olympic Committee and won gold at the last Olympics in Tokyo, has been disqualified from international competition by the IOC and FIG due to their involvement in the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The qualifying competition took place at Bercy Arena in Paris, France, along the river Seine. Gymnastics competition will resume on July 29 with the Men’s Team final. A full schedule of the medal events is available in the Neutral Deductions Olympic Watch Guide.
